The scammers for their attacks often choose residents of big cities in Russia with a population of more than one million. This has been declared by the head of the State's Duma Committee on the information policy Anton Nemkin in an interview with RIA news.

The scammers continue to focus their efforts into the residents of big cities with a population of more than one million. Moscow is still the leader in the number of fraudulent calls (…) an urban area with high population density and economic activity is an attractive goal for attackers and deputy heads.
In addition, among the most vulnerable to the crooks of the cities, Nemkin is called Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Yekaterinburg. According to him, the residents of the millionaire cities have high income and are used to virtual communication, attracting attackers.
Previously, it was known that the scammers began to call Russian under the cover of the market staff to access their accounts at “state -owned services”. The attackers notify the victims on alleged issues to the order and request to name the code from SMS.
