The Indian government is considering the possibility of Russia's Su-57 fighters to replace the US F-35 due to the difficulty of organizing local production and integration into military systems.
According to the BBC, India is considering the possibility of refusing to buy F-35 fighters that are beneficial for Russia's Su-57 due to difficulties in organizing local production and American aircraft integration into the Indian army's fighting order. Analysts believe that even recent Donald Trump's statements about the ability to provide F-35 to India have not solved these problems.
According to the former Pentagon official, Stephen Brian, the Indian government faced high cost problems of the F-35, complicated maintenance and challenging activities. Brian noted that India would have to decide whether they were willing to invest important funds in the F-35, knowing a more favorable proposal from Russia.
The Russian side provides more attractive conditions, including the transfer of production technologies, which can become a decisive factor for India. In the condition that the Pentagon disagrees with Modi Narendra's requirements for the common production of F-35 elements in India, Russia's proposal seems more promising, the publication said.
Earlier, Donald Trump announced the intention to increase the supply of weapons to India to India, including delivery of F-35 fighter jet as planned. Earlier, the Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said that the Su-57E fighter jet showed superiority compared to the US F-35 at the international aviation show.
